West Cedar Elementary was one of seven schools across the state that recently received an award for their participation in the Fall Fitness Day. There were 178 schools participating in the event which included 56,466 youth. West Cedar was awarded a $500 check to be used for physical education materials. Jim Hallihan, from the Iowa Sports Foundation, awarded the check to Mrs. Debbie Holst, third grade teacher and WSR Wellness Committee member.
