  • Then taught in Plainfield High School and Nashua Plainfield Middle School, teaching German and Language Arts
  • Started being a principal at St. Paul's Lutheran School in 1998
  • Started being a principal in WSR in 2003
  • BA in English
  • Minor in German
  • MA in Education, with a Middle school major
  • MA in Education in Elementary Administration
  • Hobbies include: reading, attending son's school activities, and being "chief cook" when family shows Percheron draft horses at fairs in the summer
  • Family includes: Husband Paul, Daughters Annie(24) and Emily(21), and Son Stephen(15)
  • Pets include: two dogs, one cat, and about a dozen horses

Allison Rasmussen

Southeast, Carey, and West Cedar Vocal Music

"Ms. R" started teaching at Waverly-Shell Rock in the fall of 2006.  Previously she taught at IKM (Manilla) and St. Mary's Catholic School in Storm Lake.  She has had a variety of experience including K-6 General music, 5-6 Instrumental music, K-12 Vocal music, 7-8th grade Language Arts and 4th grade.  She has a bachelor's degree from Buena Vista University (Go Beavers!) and has her Orff-Schulwerk levels I & II from Drake University.  She earned her Masters Degree in Education from Viterbo University in July of 2009.  Currently she teaches K-4 General Music at West Cedar, Southeat and Carey.  In the summer, Ms. Rasmussen directs the musical theatre production for the Donna Reed Festival in Denison, Iowa, (www.donnareed.org) and throughout the year, directs the Trinity Kidz theatre troupe at the Trinity Methodist Church in Waverly.  In her spare time, Ms. R enjoys going to concerts and theatrical events as well as watching movies, traveling, and visiting friends and family.
