Dear Ms. Hobson:
I recently have taken the time to look through your Cheyenne Mountain Zoo internship programs, and I instantly became interested. After talking with my pre-veterinary academic advisor here at Wartburg College, I realized that this internship is an extremely unique opportunity, filled with valuable knowledge and experience to be gained. I believe that my hard work ethic, compassion for animals and people, and academic success make me an ideal candidate for your internship program.
My work ethic and determination is shown by my ability to be a NCAA wrestler and maintain a 4.0 GPA in biological pre-veterinary sciences. My Eagle Scout Award and the many hours I have served in the emergency room also express this work ethic. My compassion for animals and people are highlighted by my lifetime experience of raising, training, and showing horses and my willingness to give up my whole summer to serve as a counselor for kids at a summer camp. Through my faith in God, I live every aspect of my life with the philosophy of: how can I serve people and animals more? You will find that this is evident in my past involvement with volunteering, high school retreats, horse training, and academic endeavors. If I a become a part of this internship program I will not only meet the demands required of me, but I will go beyond in serving the people and animals I interact with daily.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding my application feel free to contact me. You can contact me at (319) 560-9085. I can also be reached at colton.wagner@wartburg.edu. Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours Sincerely,
Colton Wagner
